Social, Environmental and Governance

We are committed to making a difference for our businesses, our communities, and our world.

At Britannia’s Gold, we believe in sustainable growth, risk management, and transparency. At sea, we use state-of-the-art salvage equipment in order to ensure the minimal amount of disturbance to underwater sea life. Further, every salvage site is shown the upmost respect and marked with a commemorative plaque after the completion of operations. Any site known to be sensitive or to have carried evacuee children will be avoided at all costs.

As part of our commitment, we will designate space on our survey ships for university students interested in marine life, particularly in the study of marine environments surrounding shipwrecks. It is yet unknown whether hydrocarbon discharge by shipwrecks could pose environmental risks to marine life in the future, so special accordance will go to students interested in studying this particular phenomenon. Further, Britannia’s Gold is investing in the creations of a hydrocarbon detection system as well as a further system that would allow for the conversion of hydrocarbons into proteins that are not only safe, but beneficial to the marine aquatic environment.

Upon the completion of every successful salvage mission, a portion of our revenue will be donated to the Merchant Seaman’s Charities.

As we continue to plan and execute new voyages, we will be sure to publish further information on our performance in relation to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.
