Overview:

Britannia’s Gold Ltd (BGL) is a professional maritime salvage company that specialises in the recovery of targeted cargoes from previously sunken carriers and returns them to the UK for the benefit of shareholders, the Government (where appropriate) and Merchant Marine Charities.

Using state-of-the-art technology and decades of thorough research, BGL is able to recover gold, silver and non-irradiated steel from targeted shipwrecks across the world. Each individual target is assessed upon its research, survey results, geographical position and the environmental conditions within which it lays.

To ensure a safe and efficient salvage campaign, each shipwreck is subjected to a preliminary survey. 

This survey includes:

• The correct identification of targeted shipwrecks
• The state of the structure’s deterioration
• Confirmation of salvage priority
• Determination of a need for hazardous operability (HAZOP) and hazard identification (HAZID) studies to be undertaken prior to salvage operations commencing
• Salvage procedures to be drawn up in advance of the salvage campaign

With every salvage effort, the objective is to develop salvage systems which interface appropriately with the ship and the surrounding marine environment.
