Innovators in Maritime Salvage

Specialists in the Recovery of Valuable Cargoes from Ships Sunk in World Wars 1 and 2

Finding sunken treasure from a shipwreck is a dream shared by every child. With time, most move on from that dream, while others still hold on to it. The roots of Britannia’s Gold can be traced to a conversation among likeminded friends, all of whom retain their sense of adventure and their youthful thirst for discovery.

Since that original conversation, Britannia’s Gold Ltd (BGL) has grown into a global effort to find and recover valuable cargoes from sunken vessels. Using industry-leading technology and decades of meticulous research, BGL has the means to recover gold, silver and other valuable cargoes from targeted shipwrecks across the world. The recovered metals are checked for valid third-party claims and then liquidated. The profits are shared by investors, the UK Government as the most likely owner and Merchant Marine Charities.

What began as an ambitious idea amongst friends has since become one of the most highly organised, concentrated recovery efforts ever undertaken.

We Know...

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

The success of each recovery project is rooted in detailed research. BGL has reviewed and collected decades of professional archives of maritime and financial records from archives around the world. Also using survivor accounts, testimonies of those involved, official inquests and family records, BGL has formulated a unique database of wreck locations and valuable cargo content.

We Know...

THE LOCATION

This historic research has enabled BGL to establish the most accurate search and survey boxes within which targets are located. Using modern remote sensing systems, in addition to their unparalleled experience and knowledge of shipwrecks, the BGL team is able to locate and identify the targets.
